Annette M Hendricks from Chicago IL USA, Gail E Thomas from Vernon BC Canada and Helen Godden from Canberra ACT Australia have combined their passion for colour, design and textiles to create award winning Tri-Nation Collaborative quilts and a unique educational series of classes.

  I came into this quilting world with no previous sewing experience or restricting rules and that seems to have been to my advantage. I am very excited where my art quilting has already taken me in such a short amount of time. I have received awards both nationally and internationally and am enjoying teaching and sharing my ideas with others. Doing my own thing and taking my own path works for me. I like to leap outside the square and love inspiring others to step into new territory.

I received my artistic training from Northern Illinois University in 1986, where I received a bachelor degree in Art Education and a minor in Art History.

Coming 2009 : A Masters Class- "Welcome to the family!

"Welcome to the Family" The 3 Sisters are planning a Masters Class in 2009. Imagine a 4 day retreat experience with 3 international and award winning quilt instructors providing both hands-on workshops and lectures deep in the heart of La Veta Colorado at Ricky Tim's Studio. There will be Art, Creativity, and a Family of Quilting Sisters to share it with. More details to follow.

Who are
The Three Sisters?

They are three talented award winning art quilters from 3 different countries; virtual sisters connected not by birth but by artistic creativity.

They combine design, painting, fabric, education, and tri-nation creativity into inspirations of mythic proportions.

Across the borders and each working in their own countries, they completed their quilt "The Three SIsters" winning a 1st place-Group Category in Houston's International Quilt Festival 2007.

Coming together at RIcky Tims in La Veta Colorado in 2008, they have begun a second international collaborative quilt tentatively called "Seasonal Sisters". This quilt is still under construction planned to be completed in June of 2008.

Plans are being made through email and webcams already for a third sisters series quilt and a 2009 Masters Class where you can become part of this incredible international family of sisters. Details and sign up for this quilting retreat experience is coming soon.
